Decking that both performs and makes a strong design statement: UPM ProFi Piazza at Restaurant Teurastamo in Finland

Restaurant Teurastamo in Helsinki is known not only for its high-quality food and atmospheric environment, but also for the fact that it always manages to surprise and innovate. Continuing this tradition, they decided to build a new outdoor terrace that would be as high quality and attractive as the restaurant itself.

How to choose the perfect terrace material that can withstand both the hard use of a busy restaurant and at the same time blends in with its surroundings? At this point, the UPM ProFi Piazza terrace in Red Padouk colour appeared, which combines Best in Class performance with modern elegance in a unique way. "We researched different terrace board options and chose UPM ProFi, because it is known for exactly these features," says Matti Santala, owner of Ravintola Teurastamo.

But how did Santala hear about the UPM ProFi composite terrace? "We saw on the internet and also consulted local designers familiar with the material," the owner continues. "Recommendations came from industry professionals who had already used UPM ProFi terrace in their projects."

When choosing the material, the restaurant focused especially on durability and ease of maintenance. The terrace is located in a public area and must withstand continuous use throughout the year. "The color chosen was Red Padouk, which compliments perfectly the surrounding red brick environment, bringing a fresh and sophisticated contrast to it," Santala says.

The terrace is not only a place to enjoy meals and drinks but is also part of the activities of the event centre. In the summer, a variety of programs and events are organized on the terrace, which attract locals and tourists to enjoy the outdoors and the restaurant's offerings.
