Always a good basis for your decking - how to lay the deck boards and joists properly

The foundations are the starting point for your deck installation. When installing UPM ProFi composite decking you can choose for your subconstruction either composite or aluminium support rail, our patented click system or traditional structural grade, timber joists. Each material has its own specific rules: by following our installation instructions closely the end result will be the best possible.

The following tools are recommended for building the deck: a circular saw, a power screw driver, a drill bit, a rubber mallet, a spirit level, a tape measure and an infrared thermometer. UPM ProFi decking products can be machined using typical woodworking tools. Always follow local building regulations and safety codes as well as generally accepted codes for practice. It is important to follow the UPM ProFi installation instructions carefully.
